DRYING RACK & LAUNDRY BASKETS

OLD-FASHIONED BEAUTIFUL LAUNDRY BASKETS AND DRYING RACKS AT CARLSHAGA
Old-fashioned laundry basket/mangle basket, of the same type used around the turn of the century. It can also be seen in movies about Astrid Lindgren's Madicken. Very lovely to use when hanging laundry to dry outdoors! But of course, it can also be used indoors. Handmade in Poland, making each piece unique.
Basket making is one of the world's oldest crafts. The oldest traces of baskets date back to the Neolithic period, often leaving impressions in clay rather than physical objects. Baskets have been essential tools for transport and storage throughout history and continue to be important in daily life.
Over time, the role of baskets has evolved. Once as common as today's plastic or paper bags, they have now become more exclusive household items. Yet, they remain essential. Most homes have laundry baskets, paper bins, bread baskets, mushroom baskets, firewood baskets, and garden baskets. It's time to start using beautiful old-fashioned baskets again, just like in the early 1900s. Instead of using plastic bags that are neither attractive nor environmentally friendly, investing in a traditional basket that lasts a lifetime is a great choice. Antique dealers still sell baskets over 100 years old. That is what we call sustainability!
