ABOUT CARLSHAGA AND ME, EVA

My name is Eva Hermansson, and I live in a charming turn-of-the-century house in Töreboda. I’ve almost always been self-employed, primarily in the metal industry. However, turn-of-the-century furniture and interior design have always been a strong passion of mine on the side.
Over the years, I’ve collaborated with local carpenters to create various decorative details. When my children were small, I even designed and produced furniture for them—a chair, a table, a dresser, and an armchair. I had some thoughts about producing more pieces and starting a small-scale business, but those ideas ended up in the desk drawer.
Today, with Carlshaga, I’ve brought that passion to life. Each piece is a reflection of my love for timeless design and quality craftsmanship. Carlshaga represents not just furniture and decor but a vision of creating homes filled with character and soul.
Thank you for joining me on this journey!
Warm regards,
Eva Hermansson
THE JOURNEY TOWARDS CREATING CARLSHAGA
The journey to founding Carlshaga began when I sold my previous business and decided to pursue further education as a project manager in the furniture and interior design industry. I completed my training in 2021 and have since realized a long-held dream: creating a furniture collection inspired by some of my most beloved pieces—older, antique-style furniture in the same aesthetic as Carlshaga.
This furniture style, known as the Carl Larsson style, emerged during the turn of the century and remained popular until the 1920s. It features bright, light furniture, often seen in the paintings from Sundborn and in the grand glass verandas of wealthy merchants' summer villas.
With Carlshaga, I aim to bring the charm and elegance of this style into contemporary homes, creating timeless pieces that celebrate craftsmanship and the beauty of Swedish heritage.
Warm regards,
Eva Hermansson
